Volunteering

Help keep things going and foster the spiritual lives and development of our children. Our Religious Education is a cooperative program administered by volunteers in our church community. We encourage adults enrolling children in Church school to assist in the classrooms.

Our Childcare and Church School Programs run on Sunday mornings during the church service.

Childcare

Childcare consists of two classrooms: a Nursery for birth to 2 years old, and a Toddler & Pre-School classroom for children 2 to 3.5 years old. Adult volunteers are needed in both classrooms to help our childcare staff. Ideally we’d like volunteers to commit to 6 Sundays.

I’d like to volunteer as a Childcare aide in the Nursery

I’d like to volunteer as a Childcare aide in the Toddler / Pre-School classroom

Church School

Church School consists of 4 classrooms serving our Pre-K to 6th graders. Classes are multi-aged and grouped by grade level. The central theme this year for church school curriculum is Unitarian Universalist Identity during first half of the year, and The Wisdom of World Religions during the second half. Classes are taught by teaching teams with two teachers in each classroom on Sundays. Lessons are in a Montessori-based format, providing a consistent flow for teachers and children. Lessons for older classrooms (3rd – 6th grades) are structured in 4 Sessions of 6 weeks each (Session1: Oct 11-Dec 15, Session2: Jan 3 – Feb 7, Session3: Feb 28 – Apr 10, and Session4: May 2 – Jun 6). Ideally we’d like volunteers to commit to 6 Sundays in the year.

Also volunteers wishing to share special talents are needed to coordinate and run these one day events. (Topics may include Yoga, Music, Environment, Social Action, Cooking, Art, Children’s Worship, etc.)
